When I took this photograph we were lost. We didnt know which of the many tracks on our map we were on and we had been told there was a good chance of snow. But how glad I was to experience this scene before we found our way out. It was on a mountain ridge, and though it was the middle of the day the forest was made misty by a sweep of low-level cloud. The little-used track just disappeared into the depths. I took this shot from the top of my vehicle, and loved the character of the snow gums and the misted light. For me it was a classic picture of a road less travelled, with a sense of mystery hanging in the distance and a track leading the viewer invitingly on.
